Protection is a set, not a single part
One antenna on its own won't solve it. Effective protection comes from combining three elements:
- Anti-theft antenna at the entrance/exit — triggers the alarm when an active tag passes. RF for fashion and general retail, AM for environments with metal and liquids.
- Tags on the products — hard, reusable ones for clothing, bags and higher-value items; disposable adhesive ones for books, perfume, cosmetics, medication and meat.
- Checkout accessories — detachers to remove hard tags, deactivators for adhesive ones, and steel cables (lanyards) to secure tags on irregularly shaped items.
Choose the tag by merchandise type
Every category has a more suitable tag. Clothing calls for a hard tag with a pin; footwear, a steel cable; books and cosmetics, a discreet adhesive tag; bottles, a specific lock. Getting the tag wrong is the most common cause of false alarms or theft that slips through.
