Electronic locks for phones and watches are the most effective way to keep a product available for customers to try out without giving up security on the sales floor.
How it works
The device is attached to a retractable cable connected to a base on the counter or an open display. The customer picks it up, tests the screen, camera and weight — the full shopping experience. If the cable is cut or the product yanked from its base, the alarm triggers immediately.
Why this matters for sales
A product locked inside a closed display case sells less: the customer can't touch it, can't feel it, and often gives up before calling a salesperson over. An electronic lock puts the product back in the customer's hand with the risk under control.
Where to use it
- Phone and telecom stores
- Consumer electronics retail
- Jewellers and watchmakers
- Opticians and department stores
In most models, the same cable that secures the device also keeps it charging while on display, and the base plugs into a standard outlet — no special electrical work needed.
